Over at Legion, I'm in the midst of an exciting project with my management team: we're looking at our tasks and deciding what to delegate to others.
Before you say that this sounds like the most mundane office-job type of task ever, understand that we've just come through a year where everyone on the team was doing about 35 jobs. We got lean, we got mean, and we were asking too much of every individual.
Now that we've turned the corner into 2021, and business is booming, we're able to hire or promote some folks into roles that will help take the pressure off us as a team, and that means we get to focus on the work we truly enjoy, and are good at.
It's a liberating feeling, knowing that you can pass off things that drive you crazy, or that you are only partially good at. And, it's a win-win - you get to hire someone who LOVES doing whatever it is that you don't, and you are finally able to work to the highest and best of your abilities.
I, for one, am looking forward to handing off a BUNCH of HR-type work, and focusing more on strategic projects and marketing. If I never have to fill out disability insurance paperwork again, it'll be too soon.
